What a mean Mom I am

The boys spilled Cheerios all over the living room one morning when I was shoveling snow...Topher was so excited and said that it had snowed inside...I did not feel that this was something to brag about. So over the last couple of months I decided that Topher was big enough to clean up some of these messes by himself and handed him the vacuum wand like you can see him using here to pick up the "snow". Lots of these things have happened with more frequency throughout the winter; in addition to this the kids have colored on the walls with crayons and pencils, and on Friday morning Topher knocked my "Be" tile off the half-wall in my living room and broke it... top all this with a very labor intensive semster ( i only watch maybe 3-4 hrs of TV a week!) I don't have time for the winter to last much longer...my kids need to get out of the house! The park would enable them to play while I read some of my school books, but this winter has been so long and wet and unbearably cold that the boys hardly get to go outside to play in the snow and so use their extra energy destroying various things in the house. But on to more positive things...
My couponing has really paid off this month. Mike was afraid to look at our credit card bill (we pay it off every month so we can earn points for travel and other rewards), because I've been going to the store a little bit more, but our bill was HALF what it has been over the last few months! I've also been getting mostly name brand foods- something we didn't have ANY of before. For those of you who use this for couponing-- moneysavingmom.com has a link to a coupon on coupons.com where you can print a .75/1 coupon for Oscar Mayer lunchables sub which are on sale for $1 making them only .25!!! Yay! For Kroger Match-ups my favorite it stretchingabuckblog.com-- their ads start on Sunday (4 days before ours) so I am ready when Thursday comes, I just double check to see if they are all the same prices.

  1. So exciting when they clean up their own messes! The other day Hallie cleaned up her toys without me even asking her... yeah, that's a good moment.
